APASEAL IRELAND and APASEAL NI, exclusive Distributors for Schrader in Ireland, launch new exciting range of Schrader TPMS Products on the Irish Market

What is TPMS?

The pressure monitoring system called TPMS allows the permanent monitoring of pressure of tyres by means of electronic sensor valve fitted to each wheel. The sensor transmits tyre pressures to on- board car computer that displays the information on dashboard of car. The system is a major advance in terms of safety and alerts drivers to pressure failure in wheels of vehicle. It allows a driver to take corrective action that can prevent major damage to vehicle and to adjust tyre pressure to correct level that will lead to better fuel consumption

OPPORTUNITY for GROWTH

Since 2007, the fitment of TPMS systems in cars has been compulsory in the USA. As a result, a new exploding market has emerged for the products required to service this new market segment.

From 2012, under a New European Directive 2007/46/EC, a TPMS is obligatory on all new cars. Already the European market is growing rapidly with several models already fitted with TPMS. This presents new opportunities to the trade to increase Turnover and Margins and retaining customer loyalty by offering services on these systems.

It is also envisaged that the correct functioning of TPMS system will form part of MOT/NCT tests in the future.

For Safety and Cost reasons, it is essential for operators to offer customers inspection and maintenance of the sensors in order to ensure the system operates correctly.
